30 Years of Web & Application Development

Our professional technology experience dates back to 2000, with hands-on involvement in nearly every stage of a project: requirements and planning, database design, programming, interface development, integrations, testing, deployment, troubleshooting, production support, and continued enhancement.

That experience spans several generations of web technology. It includes maintaining long-running applications while also modernizing interfaces, integrations, security practices, and business processes as technology and client requirements have changed.

The experience began in Internet services and systems administration, including technical support, webmaster responsibilities, Windows NT administration, and UNIX administration. By 2000 that work had shifted heavily into website and database development, followed by more than two decades of senior-level web development. That progression provides experience not only with application code, but also with the servers, databases, networks, and third-party services those applications depend on.

Business-Focused Development

Our work has rarely been limited to building brochure websites. Most projects have involved understanding how a business actually operates and then developing software around that workflow. This has included systems for retail and wholesale sales, subscriptions, reservations, rentals, patient and customer records, point of sale, inventory, purchasing, fulfillment, payments, reporting, and communications.

We are particularly experienced with projects where data moves between multiple systems or where employees are spending too much time manually processing information. Imports, exports, scheduled processes, APIs, accounting connections, shipping systems, marketplaces, payment gateways, and custom internal databases have all been regular parts of our work.

Long-Term Development

A significant part of professional development is not creating something once and walking away from it. Business applications change continuously. New requirements appear, third-party APIs change, browsers and devices evolve, security requirements increase, and existing workflows need to be improved without disrupting daily operations.

We have extensive experience working within those long-lived systems: learning existing code and data structures, tracing problems through multiple layers, correcting legacy behavior, adding new functionality, and gradually improving applications while they remain in active use.
